Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center (浅草文化観光センター) was designed by Kengo Kuma (隈研吾), the Japanese architect, and his associates.

With just 325 m² of space across from Kaminarimon gate, it offers a range of visitor-friendly services and facilities. The combination of a traditional wooden house with a modern design touch expresses the unique atmosphere of Asakusa. It offers a relaxing space for travelers exploring Asakusa.

Top Features of the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center:

  • Designed to resemble a stack of traditional wooden houses
  • Using the wood from the Tama region in Tokyo
  • The height of each floor and the angles of the roof are different, giving each floor a unique characteristic
  • You can enjoy a great view of Tokyo Skytree and Senso-ji

Kengo Kuma and the associates renovated the building in 2012, and it received the Good Design Award. Currently, it is known as a hidden gem in Asakusa.
